After reaching Srinagar via any of the three means, you will head towards Sonamarg. The drive will take approx 3 hours.
You will go out on your journey from Sonamarg on this day. It will take you 6 to 8 hours to travel 11 km to get to Nichnai. It’s between 7,800 to 11,500 feet high. You will observe a large, verdant meadow between two mountains once you arrive at Nichnai. Here, at the end of your first day of trekking, you will only be camping on level terrain.
By day three, you should be able to make it to the 12,000-foot Vishansar Lake. The 12km hike will take 7 hours to complete.
You will have enough time to enjoy the trip after starting your day at 8 a.m. To go to Vishansar Lake, you have to pass the Nichnai Pass. You’ll be surrounded by peaks blanketed with snow. You’ll stroll beside the river. You will initially have to stroll over the meadows before climbing up to the pass. As you approach the lake gradually, the water will appear to be a deep blue color. You will have a full day to explore Kishansar and Vishansar on your fourth day. In the valley, you can enjoy yourself and take in the scenery. Please make sure you get enough sleep so you can recover your energy for the upcoming adventure.
From Vishansar, you would need to hike to Gadsar. The 14-kilometer hike will take ten hours to complete. From the campsite, you will first arrive at Kishansar Lake. This lake is large and likewise has a blue hue. There is a sizable meadow to its right. The meadow and the lake are surrounded by a steeply rising ridgeline. Gadsar is at the top of this ridge, thus you have to travel to it to get there.
Beautiful scenery may be seen in between the tracks. There are other little lakes around after you arrive at Gadsar Lake. There will be a lot of snow peaks visible. However these summits are not inside LOC.
Flowers in the blue color will bloom close to the lake. Gadsar is a suitable place to set a camp, but you have to clean up after yourself. You have to make a self-promise to maintain the lake’s cleanliness and natural beauty as it is.
You have to go in the direction of Satsar from Gadsar. It will take about 6 hours to do the 9-kilometer hike. You will start the walk from the army barracks at Gadsar. You may stay away from the freezing cold water by following the bridge.
There will be a river valley and trees to see. Soon after ascending 11,500 feet, you will be walking on a level trail encircled by mountains. Maengandob is the name of the location. Proceeding forward will reveal an enthralling scenery. There’s a natural brook running between the flat green bed. This location is suitable for you to set a camp. Satsar is made up of seven different lakes.
You can spend the night here and enjoy some quality time with your trekking companions beside the lake.
You will travel to the Gangabal Twin Lakes from Satsar. The 11-kilometer walk takes six hours.
The voyage will have its ups and downs. You are almost approaching the largest Satsar lake. Between excursions, you’ll encounter woodlands. You have to descend initially, and then you will have to start climbing. You will encounter rugged and desolate mountains while climbing.
You’ll soon arrive at the third ridge’s summit. From the ridge, you can see two more lakes that are blue in color. Enjoy the splendor and capture the surroundings in photographs. You will arrive at Nundol Lake after going over a bridge and over a brook. At the foot of the Harmukh peak sits the Nundol Lake. For trout fishing, Nundkol and Gangabal are well-known.
This marks the conclusion of your journey. You will leave Gangabal and head towards Narang on this day. You will then take a car to Srinagar following that. The 15 kilometer hike will take seven hours to complete. You will descend gradually at first, then steeply after that. You’ll head toward the tree line from Gangabal. You’ll have to stroll beside the ridge. You might briefly come across a network after traveling a certain distance. A verdant meadow awaits you at the ridge’s terminus. There will be an abundance of yellow flowers on the verdant meadow, which is rather lovely.
